Buying a Dell - which Wireless card?

    Hey, so I'm picking myself up a Dell laptop next week, looking through the various parts, there are 2 options for a wireless card:

    * Intel Pro Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g Mini-Card - Europe
    * Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-Card - Europe [Add €10]

    We have a wireless router @ home, it's the standard Eircom one, and i'll be using it @ wi-fi hotspots and stuff...

    So which do i get? I honestly don't know what the difference is, could someone explain?

    N is the newer version, you won't see any advantage with your existing router, but if you ever upgrade your router you should see better speeds and/or range.

    So basically you're saying if I spend the extra tenner I'd be future-proofing the laptop?

    If that's the case then I'll get it...

    Hopefully so, but they are still finalizing the standard, do a search for "wireless pre n"

    I would go for it though.
