Solution for Quicktime error?

Hello,

I'm just wondering if anyone has a solution to the problem where QT does not recognise certain file types and displays error 2048?

What type of file are you trying to open?
More than likely, you don't have the correct codec installed.

Is it a wmv/avi file? Then download and install Flip4mac. Or just use VLC Player instead of QT.

I had the same problem for a while with divx files. Download the latest version of Perian - sorted everything out for me.
