www.polyphonicringtonez.com/wap ringtones are free but you have to download through gprs, so you're only charged your net's gprs fees. (not just for poly, they do realtones and wallpapers too.)

Don't bother with any of the ringtone sites.

Just do a search for any of the midi librarys on the net. They usually have tons of files and can be transferred to your phone the same as any ringtone
