Digital Camera noob - printing?

Just got my first ever proper digital camera and was wondering how printing up the photos works? Previously I only used disposable cameras and these cost about €8.50 to get processed.

Surprisingly I went into a local chemist today and he said they charge 60 something cents per photo from a memory card!!! Is this true? That means it'll work out more expensive for a digital camera....is this right? I thought they were the way forward! What other options do I have?

    Is there a cheaper/smarter way?

    Thanks

    That sounds expensive.

    Try online, something like Spectraphoto.

30c for your standard 6"x4" print.

Then a charge for postage or collection. But, it certainly seems that 60c per print is expensive.

    www.photobox.ie

The majority of people here use them and other than deliveries taking slightly longer than usual (presumably due to dodgy postal services in either Ireland or the UK), I think everyone is pretty much happy with their prices and quality. Their 6x4 price is 15 cent, it goes down if you order in bulk.
