Band name

    Is there a simple way of finding out whether or not a band name is taken yet or not? I cant seem to find any conclusive way of searching band name availibility like you can with domain names using whois. Ive done many search engine/music site etc searches to see if there's a band already in existence with the same name as mine but i would like to know for sure. Any help would be appreciated.

    Havnt actually decided for sure yet, stuck between a few, all of which are fairly generic if you know what i mean, not very made up, so theres always a chance of some other band coming out of the woodwork i suppose.

    3 surefire ways to know:

    1: myspace & bebo , nearlly every band is on that (or use it as their first webspace / site so if a band isn't on that then things are looking good.

    2: google, if you get nil results your as good as laughing

    3: bandreg.co.uk , not as comprehensive as google and such but hey its reliable.
