Do NTL purposely block certain websites and I'm not talking porn or anything. There are a few sites that i tried to access this week - mostly hotels (mgmgrand.com etc) and they are not being resolved. I can access these at work or in an internet cafe. Anyone else have this issue

Yeah, i'm not sure if they are blocked on perpose but you can't get into any of the vegas hotel/casino sites.

Not sure the reason why but Bellagio.com hasn't worked since early 2007
    on NTL either.

I'd imagine its just a dns issue, use somebody elses DNS servers or use http://www.opendns.com/

It's an NTL DNS issue. I can access these sites fine on NTL. Follow the guide on www.opendns.com to add their servers to your pc and it'll work fine for you too.

Can keep your preferred dns as NTL and then have your alternate as open DNS? also what happens if you are using a router? so you still follow the same proceedure as described on the opwn source website?

I have a support issue open with one of the broadband engineers and the relevant team have been made aware of the issue. I haven't heard anything in other a month so I've just pinged them for an update.

will post an update once i know more.

You can keep the NTL dns servers as primary if you like, but there's no need to. I don't use any of the NTL dns servers for instance. It doesn't matter if you're using a router, you use the exact same procedure.

But dont you have to change the dns server that you router is going to attempt to contact aswell? I checked it out on open dns last night and there was a guide for routers too, so I was able to sort it out changein gthe dns in the router too. So now I have NTL as my primary dns and open dns's primary dns as my secondary dns. Can someone give me a site that does not work on NTL so I can see if the open dns is working. Thx.

I logged a support call with NTL about this and got a call from an engineer at 9pm on Monday. He confirmed it was a problem at their end and was going to pass it through to their network team and call me back.
