That's really sad to hear, I don't remember ever coming across him but my condolances to his famil;y and everyone that knew him, RIP.

I went to college with him and S8n, so have a load of great memory of the big man...
He was a real decent guy and will be missed.

Was devastated when i heard about this. Was contacted on sunday but only found out monday.

One of the first people i got to know online, the first person i ever spoke to over voice comms (seven odd years ago) and one of the first people i met irl from the internet. Only met him a handfull of times, but spent alot of time chatting or playing games online over the years.

Unfortunately lost contact with him a few years back. Spoke to him briefly a year and a half ago and tried to contact him again a few months ago with no such luck.

Hands down, one of the funniest people i've ever met. Spent the last week thinking about all the craic we all used to have.

My thoughts are with his family, especially his bro.

Just heard about it, terrible news. Played different games with Niall over the last 6 or so years, met him countless times and he was always the one crackin jokes and having a laugh. It's a big loss and he'll be missed.

****ty, ****ty thing to happen. I first met Niall many years ago in relation to CS, then after it was mainly random encounters online and off. Absolutely bang on bloke and never failed to crack people up. This is the final proof that there is no God. Take it handy Niall.

Always liked his humor on boards.ie, he worked in AOL Waterford before I started their but I used to chat to him the odd time on IM and IRC when he moved upto Dublin

Couple of lads I used to work with worked with him up in AOL Technologies in Dublin before it closed down,

Never met the chap in person but he was very sound,

This is a bolt out of the blue.

As for memories op. Many but not as many as others. Met him a few time and He kept myself Dustaz, wwhead, kaids, par, Shinji, jak, GB and some others highly entertained on a super secret yorema irc channel a few years ago. Not to mention his antics on boards and boards irc.

Tis funny... I was clearing out some old emails today and decided to keep one from root at logic1 . com from years ago.

It ended.

Niall was one of the funniest people you could ever hope to meet. Through countless hours reading boards, sekkrit irc channels, sekkrit boards (freemasons if anyone remembers was a logic special), sitting on voicecomms with him, or just having a pint the odd time, the overriding memory im left with is one of fun, humour and unending abusive language

I find it quite ironic that for someone that i met thru/spent so much time browsing boards with, that its taken till today that ive found a thread about his death. I guess people come and go through here, but one constant was always abuse from logic , its hard to think that wont be the case anymore.

My thoughts at this point are with his brother and parents.

RIP Niall. You'll be missed.

And yeh, he would be the absolute first to call everyone on this thread a complete twat for contributing

It's been nearly a week now and I still find it hard to get my head around this.

My overriding memories of him, apart from when he teamed up with Shinji to grab my then teenaged ass at boards beers to freak me out for a laugh, are the most recent ones. We were celebrating my 21st a few years back and the 'internet' crew had taken over the patio area at the end of my garden. Niall made sure no none-internet people ventured into the area through his own unique brand of charm. Anyone who came nearby got heckled; abusive and hilarious.

Another one was when we were in the pub and had not seen each other for ages; Niall arrives built like a brick sh1t-house. He'd gone from being, well, Niall, to being Captain America. His arms were wider than my neck. He still had his unique brand of charm of course, but what made me laugh, was that despite how funny he was, and how he was now a giant wall of muscle, he was still too shy to strike up a conversation with a cute girl he fancied who was sitting just a few feet away from him. He acted tough and mean, but he was just a big softie, and such a sweet guy.

RIP Niall.

(to echo Dustaz; Niall would give me SUCH abuse for this post...)

Christ, I was only thinking of texting him the other day (hadn't seen him in ages)...

I've known Niall a good few years, some savage times had over those years.
