I am looking at buying a HD future proofing satellite receiver, that will give me the option of watching BBC HD and FTA normal SD and foreign paid channels. The Fortec Passion see link below is new to the market with upscaling option on SD how would this compare the Humax 2000 HD Receiver?

Thanks for the advice in advance.

I prefer to go to with next Dreambox but the wait seems to go on forever. Having to go back to hardware CAMs would seem like a backward step. Also I would look for an integrated PVR.

From what I read the Fortec is better that the Humax. The Topfield is also another to consider.

    You can't "future proof"

Buy a Humax, Reelbox, Topfield or Fortecstar now, but you may want what ever boxes ITV/BBC/C4 launch next February/March that has full interactive, full epg with over weeks programming etc...
