Anyone know the best place in the Dublin area that you can just walk in, buy a pole suitable for pole mounting a dish in a garden, and walk out with it?
Needs to be about 2 metres.

Preferably that is open at some stage over the weekend...

    Cheers!

What's the diameter of a 'standard' pole?
This will be for mounting a normal 60cm dish on..

When I was plumbing for the Summer many moons ago, 3/4" GB was fairly normal.

A 2" diameter pole should be OK on a proper satellite dish.

Minidish only allows for about 1¼" to 1½" poles.

I'd say the mrs gave you a funny look or two when you brought that home :D although you really want the full 8ft, to reach the ceiling...

    I'm partial to your abracadabra
I'm raptured by the joy of it all

Those chromed poles will rust from the inside and are not strong walled enough for a dish (or indoor activity!), They are either for wardrobes or shower curtains.

They probably will rust from the inside out eventually but so will the sky Dish, the one I have is fine and is up on T&k brackets off the side of the House for the past 2 Years. These poles are 2" dia and a sold in the Tv aerial's section of B&Q. Defo not a shower curtain pole..

Probably a bit in the flexable side for (indoor activity) alright but nice and shiny and would look the part :D
