I was listening to the radio this afternoon and it was a discussion between some friends of the earth treehugger and the Emeritius Professor of something complicated to do with weather from an Oxford University.

The poor treehugger was practically crying by the time it finished because the Professor just cut down his arguments and rhetoric :D

But about the bad weather, the professor said it is the exact opposite of El Nino ... the Pacific is very cool at the moment and this is what has moved the jet stream way down over southern europe, which causes all this low pressure shíte to drop lots and lots of water on us

That song comes on the radio EVERY SINGLE DAY in work, annoys the hell outta me!!

A few days ago I had to change the radio channel three times, it was playing on Spin 103, FM104 and some other bleedin' channel... now I'd just leave it on and sing along to it though.

You are welcome to it, that's far too hot to enjoy imo, for most people.

I accept full responsibility. I knew it was going to p**s down for the whole summer but I just couldn't resist buying a power-washer. It's f*** all to do with rain-dancing songs, global warming, El Nino - I bought the fu****g power washer! It started raining the moment I got the damn thing out of the box! Like the time I bought a barbecue - and a sun-lounger - and sun screen. Like the times I bought 3 months road-tax, only for my car to break down and be off the road for three months!

I'm trying to think of ways of beating this curse. I'm thinking that, if I go out and buy a very expensive rain-coat, that might do the trick.

But, until the curse is broken I'll be standing at the back-door, sobbing, with my hose in my hand, waiting for the day! What a b*****d!

ejmaztec, you might've swayed me from the Um-ber-ella theory with that post.

Perhaps it some kind of cosmic joke on all the 'Pope's Children' with their decking and shiny gas bar-b-ques and convertible Peugots.

What the hell was that just there?

I was driving, had the car window half way down and felt this burning hot sensation from the sky on right hand side of my face and neck, it was coming from a bright shiny star.

Is it time to head to the mountains, possible asteroid attack?

No, that was a blazing Roma being catapulted from a roundabout (see other thread for details)

I've seen it too. Everybody was standing around looking up at the sky, shielding their eyes from this bright phenomenon. Thought i heard someone saying something about it being a "sun", whatever that is.
