So are the US government still denying area 51 exists?

They said it existed back in 97, its a Weapons Facility and a testing/development center, alot of people are aware of the fact that it is where the B2 Stealth and F-117 Stealth Aircraft and the SR-71 Blackbird were developed in conjunction with Lockheed Martin Skunkworks. The F-117,B2, and SR71 Projects were so secretive that flights/tests were only conducted in night and Pilots were not allowed disclose any information of what they were working on or where they disappeared to from early monday until friday to anybody including their families. So that would be one of the possible reasons that nothing much can be viewed on the Ramp during the day, and i suppose it helps that they know when Satellites are going to be overhead.

Also of Interest to you may be the well known now but still Sinister Boeing 737 Aircraft that Operate under the Callsign "JANET" they are not registered with the US FAA ( Aircraft Authority ) which provides Aircraft Registrations for all US Aircraft. The "JANET" Callsign has often been said its just the short way of saying "Just Another Non Existent Trip", these Aircraft Operate to Groom Lake ( Area 51 ) Via Mc Carran Intl Airport, the personnel arrive to a seperate Terminal away from the main Terminals of Mc Carran.

All the JANET aircraft look the same with a red stripe along the side and no company name, registration or insignia. The JANET flights also shuttle workers between Groom Lake and Palmdale.

Those Big Yellow "X"'s are used on all Runways over the world to Indicate that that particular Runway is no longer is use.
