i went into the local golf shop to buy golf shoes.
While i was in there he gave me a used driver to try in the out of town driving range.
So i went there with the new driver and was very impressed with it as i am useless off the tea with virtually any wood,(irons no problem).

Found it very forgiving club and easy to use.

Any other opinions on taylor made driver r7 460 10.5 !!!
And how much should i expect to pay for same??
    Thanks

Yeh, one of the best drivers to come around in recent years. I've been looking at the Taylor Made's myself the last few weeks. Think i'll go for the r7 425 or the Superquad thouugh.

You'd be talking 300 plus for the club new. Premier Golf in Ballymun have them at 399 just now, but i'd say you can get them for around 350 euro if you shop around / haggle.

If that's too much you might want to try ebay. I'd say you could pick one up second hand for around 175 euro.

Failing that, take a look at the older version - the R5.

Very similar club and shops like mcguirks have them on offer new at the minute for around 150 - 180 euro.

Have the TM R7 Superquad, it allows me to hit the ball like a pro!! and yes believe the bumpf (although I didn't before hand) that you can get extra distance out of it, well at least I could from the previous old woods I had. My Dad reckons its a beautiful driver, best he's hit with and he knows a lot more about golf than me.

Have the TM R7 fairway woods 3; 5 and 7 again can't fault them, sweet strike of the ball

I got mine in the States $399 (superquad)

The Superquad is a lovely looking club. Think that's the one i'm gonna go for. Can't wait to get it.

well i used it for the first time today on the golf course and i hit a few good drives with it,a few of those drives i miss hit and it went about 190 yards down the middle.
I still sliced a few which i expected to do mind you.
overall verdict, club is pretty forgiving and when you get it right it really does respond.
I was on "i think you call them fairways" today and thats got to be an improvement as i normally go the scenic route to the hole!!!!
Just have to get use to the long tee,and a comerfertable set up and things should improve ;)

Just bit the bullet and splashed out on a r7 superquad. Bought it online for just over 200 euro. Not too bad.

Can't wait to get it now.

just came off the golf course and met a chap who also happened to be playing with the superquad r7 driver although his was a 9.5.
Anyway he hit a very long ball although pushed it left a good few times.
funny thing about it he played this 460 club with the ball in the middle of his stance which seems to go against all the advice of left heel, off toe etc !!!!!!
    Any thoughts on this???
He did baloon it straight up in the air once!!!!!

Decies, it seems an odd ball address for a big driver like the Superquad, although I'm a believer in playing whatever way you want to.

I have a Superquad and recently got set up by a Pro. I was told you have to hit the ball on the upswing, so, line the ball up on the left Toe, or even further left than that. Place the clubhead about 4-5 inches from the ball, BTW use the largest tee you have, the higher up the better. Taking that my first strike was one of the sweetest I have ever hit, so guess it worked

Prior to that I would have lined up the ball on the left heal, wouldn't have had the tee that high and placed the clubhead directly behind the ball.

But as I've said just play it anyway you want to
