Eircom or BT broadband packages?

    Which all inclusive package is better?

    Eircom:

    1 MB speed + all national calls included - €55
    2 MB speed + all national calls included - €60

    BT:

    1 MB speed/2 MB speed/3 MB speed + all national and UK calls €45/€55/€65


    On paper BT seems better cheaper for all packages plus with the bonus of UK calls, but which do other people find better?

    Which company has a better customer service, which company's products work best?

    The packages are all the same, just resold eircom stuff (aka bitstream).

    BT customer service leaves a lot to be desired though, although I've been told it is improving...

    It has improved, believe it or not. I had to ring them for different customers 10 or 12 times over the last couple of weeks, at various times of the day, and got through straight away each time. Alot different than a couple of months ago.

    Demonique, the BT bundles are the best value and the connection is solid. If you order make sure you get your username/password and confirm it's setup on your account.

    BT simply because they aren't Eircom :)

    bb and line rental = exact same but all BT calls eg mobile and international are cheaper and UK landline calls are free so BT are better if you call outside Ireland.

    You would have to be stupid to go with Eircom. Unless you enjoy paying more for less.

    The BT 1 & 2 meg bundles are 10 & 5 euro respectivly cheaper than Eircom along with the call savings you mentioned.

    The biggest price difference is the 3 meg connection. BT are 50p/m for BB & line rental. Eircom are 72.60 (48.40 + 24.20) incl. line rental. Eircom don't offer 3 meg as part of a bundle.
