I think you need to STFU and stay on topic. Continue to spam and get a ban. Any personal attacks and you get a ban. Clear enough?

Rozie, you have valid points. Now, how about you build on them with suggestions? (OR are you going to tell me again that you don't have to and that bitching and whining for the sake of it is sufficient?)

It was a rant. A mighty rant at that. There is no need for building upon. Its up to you to refute it now.

The truth is, Ireland, that you're one festering pile of steaming ****. You cling to a cultural identity that no longer exists.

I suppose you weren't watching much of the GAA today. Or I suppose you wouldn't know much about our many famous writers, Yeats, Beckett, Joyce, Heaney and McGahern just to name a few. Or appreciate the natural beauty of the Island around you, our talented musicians and traditional music.

Lets be honest about this, no where is perfect. In fact we are more caring than many of our friends around the world e.g America. We look after the vast majority of people, we give them housing, pensions, heavily subsidised healthcare, free education, low taxes and so on. We have our problems, everywhere has problems. And yet you come on here and go **** Ireland. I'm proud to be Irish and I would hope that the majority of people who live here are. TBH people like you add nothing of any use to Ireland. So off you go and let us know how you get on.

Rozie needs desperately to get laid. For the good of the community, someone needs a bottle of vodka and a paper bag, then get to work!!!

the first time I met rozie was when rozie joined the irc channel back in the day and proceeded to start a blazing row with everybody, afterwards posting on boards about what ***** everyone who argued was.

Rozie has had a special place in my heart ever since.

Don't like Ireland? Then f*ck off. Hectic lifestyle? WTF? I'm chillin', sipping my 7up.
We are work mad, career mad. We work longer hours than most of europe, and our leaving cert is a rat race. Colleges are high pressure and have poor social scenes, they're not like real universities at all. We are Corporate. We are Soulless. This is nothing to celebrate either, no matter how good it makes our economy. We have no real cultural identity. Irish people will tell you they're happy, more so than many other countries. But they're really just easily fooled. Looking at what our country actually IS like, it makes no sense for them to be. **** services, rampant conformity throughout or social scenes, overpriced goods, nothing for young people to do but drugs and smashing old ladies over the head with whiskey bottles.
IT Carlow has a totally wicked Social Scene. I was in COMPSOC, others were in the DJing soc, some were in the GLBT (I'm missing letters, I think) soc, and there was even a Foreign soc, to get the weird foreigners to come out and have fun (they drank wine in the only civilised pub in Carlow, the rumour goes).

True, they're not "real" universities, if you go by how much private funding is pumped into them, and that they get nice goverment grants that ensure they enfore equlity, but meh. They still rock.

Our cultural identity is so good, some of the yanks claim they're Irish:rolleyes:

"Rampant conformity"? What the holy f*ck? Erm, where? Aside from the emo's @ the central bank, who go on about how non-conformist they all are, when in fact they all dress the same, we are all different. In Fibbers a few weekends ago. In a metal pub, you got your rockers, your chicks... and the folk playing pool who may have no interest in metal, but still play pool there.

    =-=

In all, if you don't like it, go somewhere else. I don't goto Redz, 21's, etc, but I go to the Porterhouse for the Blues music, Fibbers for metal, random pubs for Irish trad.

If you dislike Ireland, you'll never be happy anywhere you go.

    bzzzzt

It was going so well up until then.
Look, take it as it obviously was (and until I get verfication that Rozie is a well known troll I actually think he/she has a point) and that is a rant. Someone is mighty pissed off with the state of things around here, and rightly so. At least you answered the points, thats why it was a size 1 bzzzt.
