Soapstone?

    Anyone here worked with carving Soapstone and know if its possible to get it in Ireland or the UK? Everywhere I find it on the net is in Canada and shipping that stuff would be expensive!

    Cheers for that Reef, its looks like the best I'm gonna get over here. In Canada its sold in cut blocks as opposed to rough rock.

    I've just bumped this up because I am looking to get some soapstone (cork art supplies only sell small pieces)... Anyone found somewhere that you can buy direct from?.... Thanks.

    does anyone know how to break up soapstone? do you need a hand saw? any do you have any tips for a beginner?
