Canon 400D - Recommendations ?

    Im thinking about buying a Canon 400d for my dad - hes desparate for a digital camera and i dont want him buying crap.

    Hes got a film Canon so would like to stick to Canon as he has a couple of lenses. I have a 5d and am very happy with it.

    I know lots of you guys (and girls) have the 400d.

    I would like to hear some pluses and negatives of the camera.

    Compared to what, though? A p&s?

    If he hasnt used digital the menu system might throw him off. But that's going to be the case with all options, I suppose.

    Think the size of it (ie, quite small) would be a problem? The quality of the kit lens?

    It's a very good camera. The body is quite small though, especially if the guy has large hands.

    The menu system and display system take getting used to.

    But, the images are very good from the camera and it's well recommended.
