Two days ago.My passport was stolen in Ireland along with all my ids and birth cert.
Killer blow as I was yet to get my social security number yet.
Went to Irsh consulate in New York to get a form to prove I was an Irish citizen. They searched the database and have no record of me ever being an Irish citizen.Hence.They can't issue the form meaning I can't work in the states and I can't go home.
What the hell am I suppose to do?

Of course you can come home. Surely you have living relatives here that can vouch for your Irish credentials?
America is one of the few countries in the world I've no desire to visit, GBUSH Orwellian society there just doesn't appeal at all.

Come home, no-one can deny your birthright to be an Irishman :)

I trust you've now photocopied all your documents three times, register-posted one set home and the second set to the Irish Embassy, and keep the third far away from the originals? (And keep your passport and birth cert separate in future?)

Don't forget to photocopy your friend in case he gets lost ...

Can you still buy an Irish passport by investing $1m in an Irish business ?

Or join the CIA and they will give you one.

You must have a PPS number - ask the folks at home for it and give that to the embassy.

Wouldn't it not be quicker to take the bus to Washington? If you wait for the civil servants in the embassy in NYC to contact the embassy in Washington it could take them a week or 2 to do that. If you go to the embassy in Washington it would be much quicker.
