Credit card is instant but costs 3% of your money.

I meant how long for the virtual card to come?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,472 ✭✭✭✭Our man in Havana

i just got an email from wirecard telling me my account has been locked for security reasons. I've emailed them back about it. Can anyone shed any light on why this might have happened

For me it happened when I tried logging in a couple of times with the wrong password/username details. So its either your fault or someone trying to get into your account.

    Yep.

I was sure I was using right username and password but my account got locked and I got an email. Slow at getting back though.

i figured it out, i registered twice with two different emails and they closed the one i don't use. Pretty efficient at getting rid of my other account given you're only allowed one. So it was my fault

just got an email saying that payment for a monthly subscription I use failed because of a problem with my credit card which is a wirecard - plenty of funds in there to cover the transaction - said they will try to make payment again on Jun 1, 2007 - just wondering before I contact Wirecard if anyone else on boards had the same problem with monthly subscription payments via Paypal?

Did you go thru the whole €1.50 card verification lark? Did you check the reserved amount in wirecard? Have the monthly payments worked before?

In case anyone is interested, I am having issues with Wirecard which are ongoing. I initially transferred some money to their BOI account using my telephone banking service. That money arrived on my Wirecard account the next day no probs. I then transferred another small sum using the very same method to the same account and reference number and this money has gone missing.

My bank have confirmed twice that the money was succesfully transferred to them on the day, but Wirecard (via email) are denying all knowledge of it. This is very worrying.

Even more worrying is that Wirecard are now ignoring my emails. It has been two weeks since they wrote back, despite several increasingly anxious mails to them. The contact phone number on their website is not reachable from Ireland.

While I don't think Wirecard is in any way a dodgy company, their customer service is extremely poor and whatever system they have in place for assigning funds that are posted to their bank account obviously does not work. Personally, I will not be trusting them with my money again.

Will post here when I have a final outcome.

Sorry to hear your having problems Robbie. I've found their customer support extremely helpful on the two occasions I've had to make contact. Spoke with them yesterday so not sure about your statement above. Are you phoning +49 (0)180 5 94 73 22 which is the one on the website?

    Don't forget to leave out the first 0 in brackets. Dial 00 49 180 5 94 73 22 from Ireland.

I can't get through to that phone number from either of my two landlines, just a constant engaged tone. Have now just tried from a third phone.

hk797 are you sure that was the number you contacted them on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,766 ✭✭✭robbie1876

Nope, I cannot get through on that number. Can you guys confirm that it works? I have now tried three different landlines over a period of several days and all I get is an engaged tone.

Meanwhile, my issue is still not resolved and they are edging closer to the small claims court...

    I called 00 49 180 5 94 73 22 a moment ago and got through to someone in a matter of seconds.
    Weird ring tone though.

I lodged money in person at a BOI last Thursday and it still hasn't shown up. I've sent them an email but not got any response. Usually the money would have shown up in my account by now and usually they respond to emails quickly.

    Anyone else having trouble?

I'm not sure if its Wirecard or BOI. For the first time ever I lodged the money by "express lodgment". There I was queuing in a huge queue and I see this lady employee talking to the people in front of me. Eventually she gets to me, asks me what I'm queuing for and says I needn't wait and that I should do an express lodgment.

First time I don't see a human things go pear shaped.:(

Did you put cash in the express lodgment?

Yes. I know what happened though. I went to the BOI and asked them to check and apparently they put down the wrong reference number.

They can't change reference number now either.

They told me to contact Wirecard and tell them what happened. So I'm about to give them a ring. What if someone else get the money lodged to their account and spent it? :o

    Robbie1876 ... yeap thats the one ...

Paul Savory Ax ... once you let them know the amount, time lodged and branch name they will be able to allocate it to your account ... been there and have that t-shirt ;)

thanks man thats reassuring at least. They're going to let me know tomorrow apparently but the guy at Wirecard said the lodgment may have been "rejected" since the wrong reference was given. So I don't know where the hell it is then....at least its only €45.....

Has anyone managed to do a chargeback with them? Are they friendly to such requests?

Ok, I've just read the whole thread here and have read this one fully too but still not sure on this:

I have AIB online banking, if I want to deposit the max of €300 now, what is the best way? (I don't have a CC to deposit by CC). Can I do it all online or must I call into a branch and do I need to call into AIB or BOI:confused: Just making sure before I go ahead!

My account is with the Ulster Bank. I have never used its online banking to deposit funds. I call into a BOI and make a straight lodgement to Wirecard's BOI account, quoting my Wirecard reference number so they know who to credit the funds to.

AFAIK you can do it all online as an alternative to calling into a BOI branch.

just signed up for wirecard myself mostly after reading about it on boards. My problem with 3v is that in the last few weeks all of the retailers in my area are no longer providing the service. I contacted 3v by email and phone and was promised a response within 2 days. Imagine my surprise when it failed to materialise!

I have boi 365 online so will phone them in the morning to get the wirecard boi account setup. I think that as I'm with boi it would be in the wirecard account next working day? Has anyone any experience of this?
    cheers,
    Jack

You should be able to transfer online. You sometimes need to ring them to set up transfers to business accounts, though once it's done, it'll be listed on your Transfer page, where you can then set the amount you want to send, etc.
