I used the internet banking way of doing it, and lodged it through their Dublin account, it took 3 days to appear?

    I'd assume a once-off deposit of €300.

Bond have you lodged more than €300 in one go?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,602 ✭✭✭✭Basq

The phrase "limit increase for your Wirecard account" means to me that they will allow you up to transfer money up to a balance of €300, and any balance greater than that will need verification.

In other words.. if you want to lodge more than €300 (or have a balance exceeding that), you need verification.

I really doubt that spending €300 in seperate €80 - €100 denominations will require verification.

    No.

Something like 60, 170 and 150 and then spent each amount before putting the rest in.

As 3V are currently giving you an extra €5 to spend if you buy €20 (in other words no service charge - €25 credit for €25 cash) it is easire to buy 2 or 3 of these and transfer the whole lot into your wirecard account than doing a transfer in your bank which took a week to clear into mine. With the wirecard charges you will get €48 credit for €50.

If you are using Wirecard a lot the charges can add up however as the transfer fee is not €1 but 3% with a minimum charge of €1. If yot transfer €300 you will pay €9 fees. If you do this four times you have almost paid the price of the government stamp duty.

Good idea...hadn't thought of that. Useful if you are in a hurry but with eBay I'm usually not. It took three days this week for the funds to show up after I did a bank lodgement....that was the longest ever and only due to the fact there was a public holiday on Monday 30th Apr.

You can't be right here mate. I transferred €50 this week and was charged €1...maybe my maths are gone wrong but 3% of €50 is €1.50.

*edit* Ah you mean its 3% if deposting by credit card...just checked the fees page.

Got another reply from Wirecard saying... actually here's the text:
    Dear Mr ********,

Thank you for contacting the Wirecard Service Team.

We are currently experiencing problems with the registration for Wirecard when
customers are directed to the registration form through third party sites.
They are prompted to enter a promotion code into a box which can normally just
be ignored. However, in some cases the registration just stops there. Please
retry the registration through our website

    https://www.wirecard.com/wirecard/

    This should work fine.
Seeing as the link they provided was the same as one they had previously provided I just copied the text in the link and pasted in the address bar. I managed to successfully open an account this time.

    It's like the old saying goes: "573th time's a charm". :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,472 ✭✭✭✭Our man in Havana

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 171 ✭✭Hoops1888

    Thanks.

When I send say 300 to wirecard, then I get a card with everything I need on it? And the card does me for two years the number not like 3v?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,472 ✭✭✭✭Our man in Havana

    Yes.

You don't get an actual card but you get all the details that would be on a card. They call this a "virtual card". The expiry on this "virtual" card is 2 years away.

In the future they say you can get an actual card from them but there's annual fees etc associated with it.

Anyone have any experience transferring funds from a 3V to Wirecard using the Deposit Money by Credit Card method?

I had €5.78 left on a 3V and tried transferring €4.69 (which amounted to €5.69 with the €1 charge) to my Wirecard but kept getting "bank has declined this transaction".

When I checked the 3V transaction page the attempts showed up as Wirecard: Insufficient funds. But unless I'm losing my mind €5.78 is enough to cover a charge of €5.69.

Just curious why this happened. Puts me off getting a €20 3V with the intention of transferring the €25 across.

When I lowered the amount by another Euro, to €3.69 (€4.69 with €1 charge) everything worked ok. Just curious...means I have €1.09 left on my 3V

*edit* Just for curiosity with €1.09 left I tried transferring .05 to my Wirecard account (€1.05 with the €1 charge) and it worked.??!?!?!?!? Crazy just crazy....

So, of your €5.69, they managed to take €2 in charges...

Boy, they's playin' you like a bad harmonica!

Sorry I can't offer advice, just acknowledgment that that sucks. :(

Where did you get this information from?

From Wirecard. Here's the full text:

    Dear customer,

Thank you for contacting the Wirecard Service Team.

We would like to inform you that you may always spend all the funds in your
Wirecard account. There are, however, certain deposit limits when you load the
    account.

Initially, you can deposit up to USD 380.00 / EUR 300.00 per week into your
Wirecard account by credit card or wire transfer. The annual limit is USD
    3,200.00 / EUR 2,500.00.
You can increase the deposit limit of your Wirecard account at any time. In
order to do this, please request the contract for opening an online account
and further instructions from our service team.

Additionally, you will need to send a verified/notarized copy of your passport
(or any other government issued picture ID) together with your account
application. The verification/ notarization should be conducted by a public
institution (e.g. consulate/embassy, police department) or by a bank.

Once you have complied with the above requirements and your documentation has
been reviewed by us, you will receive an individual limit for your Wirecard
    account.

Should you have further questions about the information given above, please
reply directly to this email, including our original text and ticket number.
