Well... depends on what connection you are paying for. If you are on dial-up these stats are great.
If you are on NTL 6mb those stats are kind of rubbish.

An hr later and got download 1674 upload 180 and latency 59.
    NTL 2MB ive got.

    That is at 5 pm

I ll run another one around 9/9.30 tonight to show you what i am dealing with for 5 months now.
    It is NTL 6mb

Now at 9pm it looks like this:
    130566660.png

Been trying to get some kind of support for this problem since early january now. Called 50 times at least, send emails. Calls back from BB support including managers never happened, apart from 3 or 4 times.
    It is a disgrace.

    Hi,

Sorry don't have the screen grab at the moment but ran the speedtest last night at about 12 and here's the result:

    3 meg BT line.

Download 1452 kb - almost have of what I should be getting, granted contention ratio is 24:1 but would not have thought it would have this much impact.

Is it just me or is this really really poor compared with other users using 3 meg lines with other providers?

It seems to me that BT are extremly poor compared to other providers.

What could be the possible reasons behind this?

    Thanks

    EireEV

Yes.... but look at the latency and upload compared to the test i did around 5pm.
These pings in the evening and that upload makes online gaming impossible.
Play pes6 where you host 1 half and client the other and you ll learn lots of new insults from all over the world because you lag the **** out of people and just normal browsing feels like being on slow dial up.

A good connection is not only about download speed.

Smart 4Mb. Sadly my line isn't quite able for the full 4Mb :( but I'm happy enough with this, aside from the crappy upload speed.

    BT 1Mb

While that seems poor, it sure beats the hell out of a dial-up connection and it means phone line is not engaged when connected and it is more than €10/mth less.

Until 3 months ago non satellite broadband was not available to me.

I'm happy, its all relative of course ;)

I'm using Three's new USB broadband modem.

Don't mind the distance ~200mi bit because the modem traces to England for some reason.

Is that latency considered bad for online gaming and things like that and is upload speed also important for that? The upload speed is obviously bad for poker according to inforfun's earlier comment!
