in the first instance the only thing he did wrong was ring the door bell alot which of course is rude, but is it enough to treat him like a piece of dirt and threaten to punch him? nice lady...
i think you getting your lawn mower stolen might've been a good lesson.

So what your saying is that if someone is rude to me I should steal from them to teach them a lesson ?

Also when I don't answer the door to someone it means I don't want to talk to them ! Take the hint and move on !

    hmmmmmmmmmm lets see

woke your little precious up (which lets face it, isn't going to traumatise him/her for life) who he had no idea was inside. Maybe a Baby-In-Doors sticker (like the car ones) beside the bell might be a good idea.
held the bell - who knows, maybe it was a particularly pleasant melody which he fancied listening to again.....and again.
And finally he was smiling - the cheek being happy:rolleyes: Maybe it was the wonderful doorbell sound, maybe it was the sight of this perfect peaceful baby (who has NEVER disturbed anybody in public), maybe he was just happy until ya opened yer big gob:(

Ok this evening (7/7.30ish) i was at home- boyfriend was at the cinema/ housemates were out and i had my 6 month old niece with me-I was taking care of her for the evening to give my sister a much deserved meal out with her partner.

Got the baby to sleep and popped into the loo- and someone rang the doorbell. Not being gross but i was on the loo at this stage so i though"they can wait a minute. Bell rang again- then again(each like a second after each other) so headed down the stairs and then the person banged hard on the door then pressed the bell and held on to it.

At this stage the baby was woken up and started SCREAMING so i ran up to calm her down(Loud bell must have frightned her its one of those really loud ones that u can hear through the whole house.) Meanwhile the bell was dinging away- so i went downstairs with a screaming baby in my arms and answered the door. There was a foreign guy outside finger STILL on the bell with a big smirk on his face.

This was the conversation(now remember i was VERY pissed off at this stage)

Him- "Oh hello i am selling these paintings...

    Me "WHAT?

Him " i am selling these paintings..."

Me- "ITS GONE 7 O CLOCK IN THE EVENING HOW DARE U CALL AT THIS HOUR"

hIM "Im sorry but i am selling.......

Me- NO IM NOT INTERESTED- DO YOU NOT SEE IVE A SCREAMING BABY IN MY ARMS- AND YOU WOKR HER UP- ARE YOU GOING TO PUT HER BACK TO SLEEP FOR ME?

    Him-"Im sorry i didnt know...."

Me" YOU DIDNT KNOW WHAT-THAT AT THIS HOUR NORMAL PEOPLE ARE HAVING THEIR DINNER AND GETTING THEIR KIDS OFF TO SLEEP AND U COME ALONG AND HOLD ON TO BELLS TILL THEY ANSWER THE DOOR AND WAKE UP THEIR KIDS(all in one breath)

    Him- "I will go

Me" ya u will and next time u call here ill punch you"

and i slammed the door(I know it was a bit mean but i was furious hed held on to the bell for so long out of pure ignorance.

About a half an hour later i started to feel a bit guilty

About 9 my housemates came back from town- I was upstairs changing the baby as my sister was due to pick her up.All of a sudden i heard yelling and banging. I went downstairs(baby in arms) and there was what looked like a fight outside the garden.

That guy i had ran from the door earlier was in our garden and my housemate had seen him hop over the gate and try to make off with our lawn mower(a lawn mower of all things?)

Called the cops on the cheeky ****er- So much for feeling guilty about yelling at him. Cheeky bastard!

And he didn't even ask you for a cigarette  how unusual...

    hmmmm lets see

woke the baby up who id only gotten down and yes a big loud bell going continusly would scare the **** out of a baby

If hed bothered to take his finger off the bell at all he would have heard the baby and copped on that he had woken her up

    and lastly....

Who the **** holds on to a bell till someone answers anyway!!!!!!!!!

I wonder what happens to this burglar's cover story when someone actually decides that they want to buy a painting?
