I have used lifeline twice before on nights out and I was alright the next day heading to work apart from feeling tired from lack of sleep! :p

Lifeline capsules are basically activated charcoal which will absorb the impurities and toxins in the alcohol, unfortunately they absorb most of the nutrients in your body also hence why they are supplemented with vitamins.

Worst hangover I ever had in my life was the morning after taking these lifeline things. They don't work, they are a rip-off.

Try this KGB drug, it's supposed to work well:

Hair of the dog? Yuk! I don't like it next day, but I have friends that swear by them. My choice is a wee hour full breakfast.

useless fact of the day, women cant handle their gragle as well as men as women hold retain less water in their bodies than men or somethin along those lines.

I agree with the Dioralyte idea, it's what I was going to post. The blackcurrant one is almost palatable too!

It's good for rehydration, and has less sugar than lucozade etc. which some people use.

not true I'm afraid, alcohol has no effect on most antibiotics. The only thing it might do is slow the absorption of the antibiotic somewhat.

I was told that depending on the antibiotic, it can cause you to vomit, which will spit up the tablets you've just taken? Meh, I put it down to common sense, no matter what the reason for it :D

OP: The key is to not drink as much. If you think you're obliged to drink more then you deserve the hangover. Just pause between drinks. Alcohol takes time to get into you system and people have a nasty habit of assuming the drink has no effect on them and then start drinking more. The other thing is for people to constantly want something in their hand (kind of like smokers twiddling with stuff when they want a cigarette. If you take your time between drinks you'll be fine. If you need to have something in your hand, get something and pretend it's alcoholic so you don't lose face.

    edit
Just found these tid-bits on the drinkaware website:

    1) For a hangover, eat boiled eggs. Eggs contain vitamin B and cysteine (which helps mop up chemicals in the liver).

    2) After drinking, mild exercise can help by increasing blood circulation, flushing lactic acid from the muscles. Too much exercising overproduces lactic acid so you feel worse.

    3) Alcohol acts as a diuretic causing dehydration, which also reduces blood pressure in the brain, which causes the headache.

    4) The liver can eliminate approximately one standard drink an hour. Nothing speeds up this process - if you have more than one standard drink an hour, it just accumulates in your body.

    5) Aspirin interferes with the enzyme that destroys alcohol, and will not only make sure you feel worse but could be dangerous.

    and finally

    6) In Roman Times, if husbands caught their wives drinking they could legally have them sentenced to death!

The only interaction really would occur with metronidazole/tinidazole (Flagyl, Fasigyn) in which case you'd be told specifically not to drink. What it would do is give an almighty bastard of a hangover instantly.

    Doesn't affect other antibiotics.

Remember to not go overboard on the water drinking when you get home unless you feel like killing yourself painfully. Just eat before bed, chuck down a pint and a half and take another pint with you to bed and remember. Drink lots and you're gonna have some form of a hangover. All you can try to do is limit the pain.

It would be considered a moral obligation to be, how shall I say, not entirely in control of yourself.

It'll take more than a tablet to fix that problem

    LOL :D

If you have to get so pissed up: eat before you go out, eat when you get home and drink 2 pints minimum before sleep.

A pint of water before you go out will also help you phase into it much steadier.

    PS.

    THIS is a lifesaver.
