Probably the burner, Verbatim is usually a reliable brand so it could be something to do with the firmware of the DVDRW.

Download VSO Inspector and tell use what make DVDRW drive you have as might be able to find a firmware update for the drive. Though given the extreme low cost of DVDRW drives these days it would be just as easy to buy a new drive that writes better quality discs.

That's a BTC drive which are basically garbage & not worth spending any more time on.

As for a new drive get a NEC DVDRW anyone will do like this model.

You can only burn to DVD-R or DVD+R you cannot create DVD-ROM only factory pressers can do that.

Regardless compatibility should not be an issue for either format as long as the discs are burned well which the NEC should do.

I'll take your komplett and raise you dabs. Well, it'll work out about €2-€3 cheaper. I had a BTC myself once, terrible things. As for the +- debate there's no real differance when it comes to single layer (unless your using with a single format burner, but you're not). For dual layer go with +, someone can give you better details as to why :)

Well go with the NEC 7173 instead but it doesn't really matter as it is fine for the sort of media you are using Verbatim which most drives burn fine.

Tip: As long as you use Tayio Yuden media you will never have any playback issues ever as it is the best quality media you can buy, on SVP type taiyo into the search box and it will bring back products which use that media any of those will do.
