Hi forgive my unspecific question but im a noob to music. I liked a certain type of instrumental music i heard in the film 'Heat'. The stuff i liked on this soundtrack were pretty much all pieces by by Terje Ryphdal. Its a kind of distorted guitar tone style he favors, he uses volume swells. Does anybody know this unique…

Does anybody know this unique style, and of any popular music i could buy in the style of this?.

I think Yngwie Malmsteen uses that technique, kinda sounds like a violin.
