    Hi all,

Heading to Westport for a weekend pretty soon. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations regarding places to eat and drink? Also stuff to do during the day. Sights worth seeing etc. Will be taking the car so can be anywhere really.

    Cheers

There's a pub on the corner of the Octagon square. Yellow front and a fishtank inside. That's where I usually have lunch whenever I'm up for the day. They have a B&B too. Not too bad.

Matt Molloy's Bar for a pint and a trad session.

Croagh Patrick of course. The famine boat monument is across the road.
    Walk on the beaches

Cool.Thanks. Anywhere you would suggest for a nice rosemantic dinner that wont break the bank too much?

Sorry, I just ply them with drink and drag them back the B&B.
Food would slow down this process ;)

Once you're there the locals in the pub usually will have a few good suggestions. Everything is within minutes walking distance anyway. Tiny town.

If you want to push the boat out "The Knockranny" hotel restauraunt is very nice indeed. It is expensive though.

There is a little italian just off shop street "Torinos" which is also nice and less expensive.

These are the only ones I have eaten in but there are loads in Westport Town and down the Quays.

    Hope this helps

Hey I'm organising a Stag for Westport.

I'm just wondering if there are Stag type things to do.

By that i mean strip club or casino? Or similar debauch activities.
