    I'm pretty sure Australia use PAL as well.

    Irish games SHOULD be ok as Europe uses PAL.

    I'm not definite though.

    Aussie system is PAL
    so games will work then?

    (what I mean is it like DVD regions)

    Yes, it is like DVD regions.

    PAL will work with PAL.

    I'm 99% sure. Best bet is to buy a cheap 2nd hand game and test it.
