PS1 downloads

I've been really looking forward to the PS1 downloads from the playstation store but alas they haven't arrived. I had read that were meant to be ready for download by the 26th of this month only to find that feckin' 'Go sudoku' is still the latest item on the store. Im guessing that this is down to where I am on the global map...Europe. What this means to Sony is that im fine waiting another couple of weeks for something the rest of the world is getting before me. Of course as we all know this couldn't be further from the truth.
I've been searching the net to find out details of when the european playstation store will get these downloads but to no avail. Im just wondering, does anybody on this forum have information regarding this issue?

theres a way around this. i have set up an american account and can access the yanks playstation store.
create another account on yor ps3 and when it asks for your address put in an american one( I just used the address of a book publisher from a book i had handy), and hey presto you can get all the latest downloads etc. such as the high definition trailers for transformers, spider man and PS1 games.

If you can't wait for the EU downloads, just set up a different account (as the previous poster said), either a U.S. or a Hong Kong one.

A Hong King account will access the Japanese PS3 store, which has different content to both the US and EU stores, and has the bonus of being mostly in English.

One small advantage of the JP store is that the PS1 'Classics' games are listed in a separate section.

Is the sign-up language for a Hong Kong account in english? And where did you get an address for there? Cheers

I might just do that but my point is that we shouldn't have to. I mean, whats their problem? Its just a matter of uploading something to a server. Is that so hard for SCEE?

Yes. If you use the Hong Kong account sign-up, the language is English.

I searched a few forums and googled 'Kowloon' for addresses.

Lion Rock Road, Kowloon City, Kowloon, Hong Kong seems quite popular.

    Hope that helps.

Anyone know if the ps1 downloads are region locked. eg: US ones only play on US ps3?

As far as I know the PS1 downloads are region locked, but I could be wrong.
I downloaded MK2 no hassle, but I dont know if the PS1 games are the same.

I downloaded some PSone games from the US store to my Japanese PS3 and they work fine. As far as I know, pretty much most or all content isn't locked to specific regions.

Isn't the japanese region the same as the US for games?

There is no region locking on PS3 games, nor it seems, downloadable PS1 games. With PS1, Japan and the US weren't in the same region, but these downloadable ones don't seem to be locked.

Japan and the US are in the same region for Blu-ray movies, though, maybe that's what you're thinking of.

I meant for ps1 and ps2 games, thought they were the same region. Cheers for the clarification though.
