Not back for a whole season though, it's apparently
On of four special election-themed editions
Also, looks like RTE can't spell.

    Scraping the barrel for guests?.

With the exception of Neil Delamere it looks like its gonna be a fairly dry panel too

Still as ****e as ever I see. Tara Loughrey-Grant? Funny as a kick in the nuts. The rest of them...pretty much the same.

Wasn't one (or "on", if you like) of the better ones... It's been going downhill a bit lately, hope it picks up because it can be really good

    Another dull token female.

Show was absolute muck tonight... Dara's really gonna be missed. Colin Murphy is brutal at hosting.

Neil Delamere was funny as always, John Bishop was too serious to be there. And as for Karl Spain and "the plank" on the other side - may as well have not been there.

Who was the guy on talking about immigration? He seemed to think he was on Prime Time rather than a light hearted panel discussion. He was taking it all a bit too seriously and it jarred with the usual tone of the show.

Was a very poor show tonight, delamere was the only one who was remotely funny. The sooner Dara comes back and Colin and goes back to being a panelist the better imo.

@zuutroy: is it online or what?

Nope, the magic of Sky (psst...don't tell them)

Balls, I didn't know it was on. Missed it. Does anyone know if it'll be repeated over the weekend?

Didn't see the point of the John 'I read it in the papers on the way here in the taxi' Bishop fella, especially as it was an Election Special...

And did that Tara Loghley-O'Caroll-Kelly-Grant one say anything at all?

Dara would've ripped into that David Coffey fella as well I'd say...come back Big Man, Echo Island's forgiven :(

Dara, Ed Byrne and Andrew Maxwell probably wont be in this series at all as it is filmed on tuesdays. I believe that the reason it moved from being filmed on mondays to sundays was that those three live in London.

I recon they should have changed the name of the show, as without those three it is like having Ringo Starr and three others tour as The Beatles. Neil was excellant as usual though.

okay so it there wasn't much comedy in the last part but where else have you seen such an intelligent discussion of immgration on Irish TV?

now I don't agree with with what the guest said about there be seemingly little wrong with globalisation but his point about remittance going straight into the basics of life was good and the point bishop made about fleeting benefit of low taxes was supurb.

It was rubbish. Making "wisecracks" about Irish politics was never funny, because it's just so dull. If they are all about the election then I'll be giving this a miss, especially without Maxwell.

What did you expect when it was advertised as an election special?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,585 ✭✭✭Jerichoholic

I didn't see the ads, I just saw it when it was on. It was a load of my arse. Now I know it's hillairious brown envelope jokeathon zany hour. I'll not be watching.

Last weeks was rubbish and I thought it had run its course. But this weeks was much better. Not as good as its vintage days - there's just no replacing Dara - not but funny. Spain is a funny guy with his standup but he just doesnt seem to have the speed or zany quality for that type of show.

Delamare & Maxwell were on form alright. They had a lot of help from the election posters and other topics that were 'raised'.

Great that Maxwell is back, loved his impression of Bertie...so true

Am I the only one that finds that maxwell guy incredibly annoying and totally unfunny.

Delamare on the other hand is prretty good, however I saw him presenting Just For Laughs recently and it was poor enough.

You probably are. Maxwell is just naturally funny. The kind of guy you'd just like to have around for a doss. He won the King of Comedy award in the UK a year or so back too. Well deserved.

I'm with ya...He's in that 'the answer to the question no one asked' category..I know plenty of people that could be as funny in that situation.

The Panel is nothing without Dara. And if Ed Byrne is gonna be out as well I'm not watching it. Delamare is the only thing keeping it goin..

AS much as i miss Dara i do not miss Ed byrne..he is not funny, when andrew is on he totally outshines ed and he's left with these one liners every so often.
And of course neil is as funny as always, i just love him..not too keen on his presenting of "just for laughs" though.

Andrew is hilarious. I remember one of the first Panels he was on. One of the guests was a weatherwoman, and they were making jokes about the weather. they got to the topic of hurricanes and why how they're named when Andrew said "it's always the female hurricanes that take your house". fúcking brilliant, had me in stitches

Andrew Maxwell and Neil Delamere were carrying the show. Loved Maxwell's German-esque impressions. I don't know why they keep bringing Karl Spain back. He's not funny and never has been
