Why are you talking crap - the 360 could always play video (they will be adding MORE formats soon, not adding the functionality as new!) and it could always play mp3.

I think Anto is fighting a losing battle.

Ok here we go, I have 3 xbox 360's and a PS3, I've compared games like VT3, NHL 2K7. MLB 2K7 graphically. Surprisingly the 360s graphics are a hell of a lot better which I even said to one of the lads in work and he was surprised. Where did you see GRAW2 playing on the PS3 considering it's not even out yet.

I have had both the 360 and the PS3 since launch and at the moment
if I had to get rid of one it'd be the PS3.

The ability to listen to your own MP3s whilst playing any game on the 360
is a joy. The ability to stream video (in any format) from my laptop to the
360 via wifi using TVersity is great. The fact I can get 90% of new 360
releases from Asia region free for on average €30-40 means the games
are much cheaper.(Sony make sure they intimidate the Asian stores into not
shipping games to EMEA, Lik-sang anyone!?!?!?)

Graphics wise there's no big difference between the two
machines but I'd give the 360 the edge... and before I hear the PS3 is just
out, someone remind me how long it's been out in US and APAC. If you look at
the graphics that the 360 had within 3-4 months of launch (this time last
year, GRAW/Oblivion) I think developers were able to get better results
    from the 360 earlier.

If both my machines broke in the morn I'd replace the 360 first. There just
aren't any games on the Ps3 that I don't already own on the 360. I'm still
waiting for a Ps3 game scheduled for release in the coming months that I
want...... there's only so much playability in the current Ps3 catalogue and
apart from Motorstorm and Resistance Fall of Man there's nothing out there.

And don't get me started on the poxy loading times on the Ps3!

It isn't out for the PS3, not even a demo. Where are you getting this from?

Can you read? They always had MP3 support and they can be played in game, unlike the PS3. They've had video support since launch, added the ability to stream your own videos to the console well before PS3 launch and they are expanding on it further in the next update.

Im in work now and the site is blocked when i get home i can post a link but google will help you out there .

Must be my xbox so all i can do is copy on copyright protected music from cd's

again i must have a dodgy xbox i can stream video's from my laptop to my xbox, but i have been searching the internet for info on watching your video's from the xbox's hard drive and i cant find anything. you can download some video's from xbox live but that is something completly different . I want to take my collection of south park and watch it directly from my xbox like i can on my PS3 .

If im missing something please do a quick guide on how to do it (very basic) so i can get my xbox full of south park

Yea but look to the future do you really think the xbox will be better than the PS3 in 2 years ? For me i i had to get rid of one id loose the xbox purely on i think its hit its limit allready , i dont believe its as functional as the PS3 . ( streaming video requires a laptop or similar desk top so thats yet another cost to incur )

Quiet alot, but anyone with an ounce of sense will shop online where you won't get PS3 for much under retail but you will get great deals on a 360 bundle and other accessories.

What makes you think its hit its limits? All console's games always improve the whole way through their lifetime, look at any of the past generations. The 360 will not be any different.

Let me clarify that it does NOT require a laptop/pc to watch video.
I can transfer WMV files (including HD WMV) to a USB key, USB drive or
CD/DVD and play them directly from the 360. By streaming I can watch Divx
and most formats. How many people that own a PS3 or 360 do not have a
PC? How many people that have a PS3 or 360 and do not have a PC have
a vast collection of media (divx/wmv/mp3,etc) that they could watch on
their console? The upcoming update for the 360 will allow me to dump
most media formats onto an USB key and play them directly.

I've also set-up Orb (www.orb.com) to stream media from my laptop to the
PS3 and it's pants compared to the quality of what I can achieve with
    TVersity and a 360.

    I don't think it's a dodgy 360 but rather a blinkered view:
    http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=130160
    http://tversity.com/home
There were several discussions on the Xbox forum on boards.ie too.

As I said before I have both machines and have no preference as to whether
Sony or Microsoft make more cash from their respective offerings but what
annoys me is when people attempt to promote one format over another
based on incomplete information and brand loyalty. Hell I'll play whatever
game is best on whatever machine as I've done with all consoles since the
80s. And at the moment the 360 is winning both on the games front and
on it's multimedia capability, all I can give the current PS3 offering in it's
favour is the fact that bluray is winning over HD DVD.

PS you can browse the internet xbox cant ill give you that
PS games are released at 60 euro xbox 70 - 75 euro bullsh!t, VF5 is 75 euro in GAME

Seriosuly, stope being a dumbass fanboy for 2 minutes, i own both systems and that entire post is just bollocks, PS has TEH BETTER GRAFFIX, eh? Yeah, resistance really looks better than GOW.
Ps3 is a lovely machine and im quite happy with mine but im also not that much of a mong that i can admit that it ISNT worth the price just now due to lack of games and that the 360 completely trumps it for online service and games library. And it also looks alot better in multiplatorm games, take a look at FEAR on ps3 and try telling me it looks better.

Why not put them on a memstick/disc when download them, like you have to do with the PS3.

    Blinkered views
    Blatant fanboyism
    Misplaced brand loyalty

I'm off to watch a HD episode of Southpark directly on my 360 that

More misinformation, lies and mistruths: I have 6GB of videos on my 360 Hard drive that I play directly from the console.

I also have 100gb+ on my laptop that I stream directly to my 360.
Now I can understand why you're not happy with your 360 - you clearly
either do not know how you should use it or are afraid to discover it's true

It's the multimedia capabilities that poor Anto is struggling with and we are
doing our best to help him understand.

With regards to the games there is much of a muchness, I'd give the 360 the
edge at the moment. Plus one must admit that for an owner of both consoles,
they'll have the games 'coming soon' on the PS3 already on the 360.

The link you provided summarises my thoughts:
"In short, Call of Duty 3 is a solid enough game on PlayStation 3, but it's obvious that the Xbox 360 version was (and is) the lead platform for development and the Sony console is getting sloppy seconds. In this respect, it's simply not good enough"

For the last time im not unhappy with my xbox I FRIGGIN LOVE IT i just prefere my PS3 . I clearly dont know how to use the xbox properly when i had only the xbox i spent hours looking for a way to store my vids on the hard drive but i could never find anything bar down loading some trailers or music vids from xbox live .

I couldnt stream because my desk top is too old it doesnt have that feature , unless i shelled out for a new pc that wasnt an option .

Within 5 mins of turning on my PS3 i had some south park on it .

Im still looking for a feature the PS3 lacks over the xbox the only one i found was the slightly better downloads from xbox live which gave me some south parks i allready have , where as i instantly found a number of feature going the other way .

Well if you'd stated in your initial posts "I dont know how to......."
as opposed to "the 360 can't do......." you'd have met with the response
you desired. You clearly stated that the 360 could not do certain tasks
but when myself and other posters questioned you you admitted it was
due to your inability to understand how to or down to the spec of your PC.

How to copy music from a CD to your 360 Hard drive.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906498

You admitted that your PC isn't up to streaming, hardly the fault of
the 360. Hell my laptop is 2 years old and it does the job flawlessly
    - just in case you try and convince people you need a brand new PC.
Here's a workaround for you, and yes you'll need a USB key, USB HDD
or blank CD/DVD, but again that's down to your PC and not a feature lacking
    in the 360.

How to watch video on your 360 without streaming (if your PC is a low spec)
    Download Super http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
Drop the video clips on your PC into Super and do a batch conversion into WMV
Copy the new WMV files onto your storage device.
    Use storage device with 360.

If the above is too much trouble again it's down to your PC spec and not
    an inability of the 360.

woo there sailor i never said it couldnt stream ,i said it cant play back video from its hard drive ( bar a tiny amount available on xbox live ) . Which is true .

Ive been left with an old ( an when i say old i mean old Desktop ) since my laptop got stolen , it doesnt have a dvd drive never mind a cd/dvd writter .

Well surely the xbox not having the feature to play back the vids from HD is a feature lacking from the xbox , which is my point the PS3 can do it xbox cant :confused: maybe my first post didnt maek that clear but ive since cleared that up .
