I upgraded both my desktop and laptop to Feisty with no problems. Just one click and wait a couple of hours. Neither required any extra fiddling.
if I enable the desktop effects then I am not able to view any movie using Totem, which is pretty annoying.
I get the same on my Dell with Intel Extreme graphics. Movies just show up as a black screen with sound playing and I have to quit Beryl to watch them properly.

On my laptop with ATI card I had to change from the restricted driver to the open source one to get the shiny effects. Only problem I've noticed so far is that Blender won't work properly with Beryl/Compiz running.

I upgraded to it easily enough, but I didn't know about the wobbly windows, had to enable them (how does one find out what big feature changes were made?)

Still new to Linux and I have to sort out the following:
-Dell printer (J740) won't work in XP or Ubuntu, I'd like to get it working in at least one OS!
-Sometimes the gnome-panel process freezes on startup and I have to end it, but once it restarts it works
-Shutdown works but restart leaves my PC hanging, as I understand it, it's an ACPI problem that lots of people have.

Did the upgrade yesterday. Went better than I thought it would but still not flawlessly.
It stopped halfway through producing an error when upgrading the samba package. I had to kill the upgrade and do a dpg -reconfigure. then install samba at the end.

I seem to be having some trouble with networking. Only noticed it this morning after booting. Sometimes on system start the networking wasn't configured properly. Sometimes it works on a boot but then stops working about an hour later (when it probably tries to do a dhcp renew). Still not sure what the exact problem is. Once the connection goes, I cannot get it back up (using dhclient or ifconfig) and have to reboot. I seem to have a correct ip address and the results of route seem fine.
It could be DNS settings getting lost just not sure.

I unistalled the network manager package and set my system up with a static ip address a few minutes ago so I'll see how that goes.

How do you upgrade through Synaptics? I'm new to Ubuntu but I've been running 6.6 for a while. I downloaded the 7.4 iso twice but neither works properly so I thought I'd try the upgrade.

You can only directly upgrade to Ubuntu 7.04 ("Feisty Fawn") from Ubuntu 6.10 ("Edgy Eft") For information on the upgrade options: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading
