Who do you think is going to die?

Okay, folks, so we only have another four episodes till the season finale and we know at least one major character will die. Who do you think it's going to be? I've been thinking about this a lot and have narrowed it down to the seven most likely (imo) candidates. I've based this on upcoming flashbacks, comments from the actors and rumours of who might be leaving but if you think it might be someone else please post and explain your choice.

Charlie i think because Desmond can't always be there to save him. In thinking Charlie then maybe it could be Desmond. He could try to save Charile and in doing so get himself killed.

Well there is one obvious problem with this poll based on what Carlton Cuse confirmed to Michael Ausiello but I won't state it here. Go to TVguide.com if you're curious!

Anyways, I am almost certain now that Dessie is for the chop and it will happen trying to save Charlie's life. What this means for Penny will be interesting; she appears to be getting closer to him, and remember he has no link to the 815 survivors other than being on the island with them.

I predict:
Dessie dies.
Naomi gets message to Penny to this effect.
But gets cut off before she can say anything about the other going ons.
And then Penny says, f*ck that, I'm moving on and leaves Naomi there.

If this comes near to being true I will be very impressed with myself. If not, I will be looking for the nearest rock to scuttle under come May 23rd!

You mean about five characters dying? I don't they're going to main characters but a few redshirts, people in flashbacks etc who we don't really care about. Or did you mean something else?

I reckon Jack'll die in the finale. Well, I hope he does anyway. He's either gonna die or be unveiled to be working as one of the others along with Juliette in the finale.

The rumours so far suggest one major character death and at least one other that we won't care about. Rose and Bernard will be back later this season so maybe one or both of them will get knocked off.

I thought Desmond was a goner till I saw Wednesday's ep. I was certain it would cover his time in the military and how he ended up in prison but they're probably saving this for a future fb. So I think he's safe for now.

Becoming a very strong possibility imo. Especially if

the finale really is Jack-centric.

There were rumours earlier this season about Fox wanting out of his contract which he later denied. It wouldn't surprise me if he wants out to pursue movies. Only thing is I can't see ABC letting him go. He may not really die, it could be a kinda of mythic Hero dies and is reborn thing. Kinda like Sheridan in Babylon 5's 3rd season.

let it be Claire , pleaseee let it be Claire, shes the most useless character in the whole thing, all she did in season 1 was be pregnant and "my baaaaby they took my baaaaaby".

Season 2 "de Baaaaaaby is sick!!!1 de baaaaaby is sick"

Of course then season 3 "Chhhhhhhhhhharlie! stop lying to me Chhhhhhhhhhharlie!!!"

All she does is complain, then moan about her baby, shes like Diet Michael "They took MA Bhooooooooooy!"

Because you'd be ecstatic in her circumstances?

Nah, I hope they don't kill off a season 1 character. Maybe Juliet will die in some dramatic fashion (in Jacks arms) and apologise for working with the Others!

In fairness, she's had a bit of **** happening recently. Like drowing and having a weird illness when she hasn't a clue what's going on. I'd sooner see Charlie go before her.

I kinda have to agree with you on this mate. It is very possible Jack will go. But after playing such a huge role in the show so far it will be a big surprise if it actually happens.

Jack is the one that is going to get them off the island! Or at elast play a major role in it.

Says who? This is still just rumour. I don't even think he knows yet. The impression I get is the actors find out when they get the script, unless they want out or are fired for drunk driving (see Rodriguez and Watros).

Everyone's been good this season so whoever they kill will be someone who's backstory has dried up, probably an original from season 1. Either that or there's someone who secretly wants out, maybe Naveen.

I read it on spoilerfix.com. Life and Style magazine has reported that he's been told that he won't be back. It probably is just a rumour, but it could still be true.

Ah yes I remember that. It may be true of course but, well, I just find it hard to believe the writers would be so obvious. They seem to like shocking deaths. EVERYONE thinks Charlie is going to die.

it seems like everything is pointing to charlie, i feel i am sure he will die, but then wouldn't that be too obvious?

i don't know. i unfortunately know the last 4 flashbacks of the season, which could mean the character who has a flashback may die. i found it accidentally and wish that i didn't know, but i will say that the last 4 episodes of the season, mostly the last 3 look incredible primarily based on whose flashbacks they are!

I'd say Jack is certain to die at the end of s3.

1. The whole Juliet thing will lead to a huge leadership conflict, esp. with Sayid and Sawyer
2. The last flashback is a Jack
3. They'll want an exciting ending to this season

isnt jack doing some film? anyway, if he is then im sure it will be him. besides, he hasnt really had a major part in it recently imo. also, grooming sayer for the leader, maybe this has some bearing on it?

and it says for eposide 21 that Charlie's fate will be decided. We will also find out more about Charlie's father.

so mabye it will be charlie afterall!

I know it's a large ensemble cast, but Jack has always been the MAIN main character.
So I think it would be very difficult for them to kill him off. (How many TV shows have done this? Or done it and gotten away with it??)

Having said that, Jack used to be the go-to guy for everything, especially because he was the only doctor.
Recently, however, they seem to have given the impression that the beachfolk have gotten on fine without Jack. Although as far as I remember, there were no real emergencies while he was away, unless Jack could've saved Nikki & Paulo.

So I think killing off Jack would be a VERY risky move for the producers, but it could work out well, as it doesn't happen much. It'd be kind of like when Tom Hanks gets shot in Saving Private Ryan.

As much as I dislike posts like this, I think some people really need to use more spoiler tags on this thread.

That or add something to the thread title.

I just noticed people posting what episode flashback belongs to what character, and things they read on spoiler sites, so this could seriously upset some people if the read.

Since the thread is about which character people 'think' will die, anything at all spoilery should be tagged.

Anyway sorry bout being an annoying knob.

I think any thread such as this will inevitably have spoilers because the thread is asking people to speculate. Part of that speculation will be based on individual's own thoughts, but the knowledge of spoilers will filter through.

In any case, if you don't want to know about spoilers, the title of this thread is a dead giveaway (ptp) that you DON'T want to read it.

But maybe as compromise it should say in the post heading that it "contains spoilers".

Yeah even that would be fine.

I saw the title and expected things like "I think X will die because I think the writers can't go anywhere else with their flashbacks, and they have no more real use to the story", rather than "I think Y will die because I saw it on a rumour/spoiler site and their flashback is the season finale" or whatever.

I don't really mind all that much, but I'm sure some people would be fairly annoyed.

I've edited the thread title to warn people of possible spoilers but it's not being reflected in the title of the poll, which I can't edit.

Anyway I agree people should use spoiler tags when refering to future flashback-centric episodes. The rest has just been speculation.

I think and hope it will be Charlie but, yeah, it's too obvious.

Jack might be for the chop but he is the main character of sorts and it's hard to see the producers going through with that. Then again, as was pointed out above, Sawyer is assuming a leadership role now. I thought he would be taking Locke's place as Jack's rival but the 2 of them are getting on fine in the last episode, so maybe Jack will die and Sawyer will be the new leader while Locke is with the Others.

In terms of flashbacks, we've seen a lot of Juliet's story as well (how she joined the Others, how she came to the island and what she did there). There's not a lot left to tell about her so maybe she'll get it.

Desmond should be safe because we still haven't seen his time in the army yet. Then again, no-one thought Libby would die while we still didn't know what she was doing in the asylum. (Speaking of Libby, I'll bet we'll see her before the season ends in someone's flashback.)

The only flashbacks she could turn up in are Hurley ones. There's no Hurley flashbacks scheduled for the rest of the season.

Libby turned up in Eko's and Desmond's flashbacks as well. She's a bit like Christian Shepherd in that a few of the Flight 815 survivors have met her. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to see her again soon.
