I'd kinda had a theory that Charlie might be reprieved because it looks as if the writers aren't going to be able to introduce new 'from the plane' characters (q.v. the fans reactions to the attempted introduction of Pablo and Nina).
Therefore my gut instinct is that the core group of original losties might now be safe. Charlie lives.

It's his flashbacks. So, if Eko, Shannon, Nikki, Paulo and Ana-Lucia're anything to go by, I think the end is nigh for the gob****e. Small loss. If he's booked into star on Jimmy whatshisface Live the next night, or gets caught drunk driving over the next couple of weeks, we can take it as confirmation.

I wonder is this from the same source as the Billie Dee Williams as "senior figure in The Others", except he wasn't.

It would seem way too obvious for them to kill off Charlie. Lost thrives on twists (just like Charlie was the fated one, not Claire).

If anyone is to die, my money would be on Mr Friendly, Tom, and either Sayid or Jin. The identity of the baby's father might seal Jin's fate.

This is still just rumour. Two more people are due to die this season but apparently we won't really care about one of them, which suggests a minor or recurring character. The other character will almost certainly be a original cast member imo. Someone who's storyline has run dry and hasn't much significance to the overall mythology. Charlie? Perhaps but it does seem kinda obvious alright.

The thing to keep in mind however is that the decision to kill off the last few characters was made fairly late. Where as I suspect the writers have known who's gonna die this season for quite a while and may be setting it up as such. Aside from Charlie I'd say Sayid is a prime candidate but he still has some backstory that needs to be tied up. We'll have to wait and see.

Oh yeah, the title of the Charlie episode is

"Greatest Hits". Doesn't bode too well does it?

There is no way they will kill off Sayid. He is one of the most important on the show IMO. Sayid is the only one who can get the answers we all want. Charlie has had his day I reckon.

Charlie’s character has 2 minutes here, 1 minute there. He character is all but dead. Sayid will have loads to do now that Jack and Juliet are returning to the other losties. I see Sayid’s character playing a big roll in the coming eps.

) Domnic has not been given another contract for next season which cements the whole thing really.

Bye bye Charlie. A great season 1 character, somewhat diluted in 2 and bounced back a bit this year with his interaction with Hurley.
