    Hey Folks,

    What's with eBay's dumbing down of categories lately? When I was looking at watches a while back they had excellent breakdown of categories listing digital watches, analogue watches etc and even the major maker's. Now if you search for a wristwatch, it returns everything in one list.

    The same is true of other categories such as the computer section. I was recently looking for some Corsair DDR-II memory but they don't break the list down any further than just Memory. No section for SD-Ram, DDR, DDR-II etc.

    I can't understand this as there used to be much better category breakdown and other eBay sites use it such as eBay Germany where everything is listed in great detail.

    So can anyone tell me why this has happened and if we'll see more detailed categories come back?

    I can see the following sub-categories under watches (on left hand side panel)

    * Wristwatches (26117)
    * Pocket Watches (3181)
    * Other Watches (2041)
    * Watch Parts/ Accessories (1272)
    * Watch Repair Kits/ Tools (636)
    * Chronometers (332)
    * Watch Publications (42)

    For "memory" I can see a dropdown list of memory types, and then a child list with more options again. There's also capacity and brand name.
