    Hi.

I have long thought about this. Do you believe that there is such thing as natural grappler / striker? For me i started doing striking arts and i didn't feel pretty comfortable with them grappling i felt home right away. I still today feel much more comfortable in grappling than striking. So i wanted to know what you think are everyone hardwired to one or another and can it be changed through hard training etc?

I would say there is such thing as a natural grappler and natural striker-as a child my natural tendency was to throw punches untill i knocked my opponent down where as some other kids would grab you in a headlock and hold you there-maybe this was more to do with there fear of been hit but either way this is what came natural to them, so in my opinion i would say yes there is such thing...

I don't think that thats necessarily a case of being a natural striker or grappler, its just a case of being inclined to hit or grab when you have no training (as a kid). For the most part, any natural grapplers who i've seen aren't necessarily good at first, but they are usually just very good and quick at picking up moves and fundamentals.
