Little help with the meaning of this symbol

    Can someone please tell me what this symbol means? My buddy has it as a tattoo and I want to see what it means, I think he got lied to by the artist. I think it is chinese. Thanks so much.

    that character is yīng 英. It means hero - 英雄 (yīngxióng) i think. When used with other characters it can also mean england - 英国 (Yīngguó)。 As well as lots others...
