Depends on the context. Lots of young pakistanis use the word is a genial way, I've just never heard a white person say it in a genial way. I'm not sure it would be in good taste either, it would sound odd, dunno why. It's not like Brit or Aussie because it has colour implications, and colour always gets people into a kerfuffle.

Why would someone say it to an Indian? I think they'd be more frustrated at getting mixed up with someone from a different country/ ethnicity. Like English speaking Irish people getting mistaken for British people.

So whats happened to Dave McSavage is he still doing his thing on the street or has this won him a bit more noteriety/ fame?

I've seen him a couple of times - i think he's funny , a bit smart but funny ,made me laugh. Also IMO he's funnier than t tiernan
