Okay, i was having a gander at ebay.com, and came across this American shop which sells fully loaded stratocaster bodies(all hardware with texas specials:D ), minus their necks, for very cheap, they also sold american necks to put on yourself, and i was wondering, Is it really that easy? i mean i'd imagine issues would arise with angle of the neck, over straightness that sort of thing. The reason i ask, is that you could end up getting a very nice guitar for quite cheap even if you were stung on tax issues once importing.
    Cheers :)

Neck angle won't be a problem. Fender necks aren't angled, it's a flat rout.

Generally, with a bolt-on design, it can be that simple. Bolt (or actually screw) on your neck, and away you go.

    However....

If these guitars and necks aren't official Fender bodies, you might have a problem with compatability. Even with Fender products, the neck heel is sometimes slightly bigger or smaller than a given neck cavity on a body. It's a pain in the ass.

The best way is to prepare yourself for some modification to the body, and then if it doesn't happen - happy days.

    Thanks!!!
All the parts they sell are fender, you can buy a fully loaded 62 fender body( with nitro finish:D, always wanted that) and 62 neck for €780 including delivery and 21% tax, sounds sweet to me, all i have to do now is save up the money:mad:

Yeah, i figured that was the guy you were looking at. The only way i could see you were getting the E800 figure was by going with jap parts.

Check the prices of actual Jap strats on ishibashi.co.jp before you go buying anything, i don't think the stuff youre looking at is as good value as you think it is.

I may be wrong, i didnt spend too much time looking, but its worth running exactly what youre looking at off somebody here before you part with your cash

yes that's true, well i'm not goin to be buying anything for a good while so i'll do a lot of research into it before parting with my hard earned cash.
