Sting on Studio 60

Hi, I was watching Studio 60 last Thursday, the 8th of March and Sting played a walk on role. He played an amazin tune during the programme on some wierd instrument. Was wondering if anyone knows the name of the song and the type of instrument it was played on. Thanks for any help.

It's Fields Of Gold & it was a Lute (medievel instrument) he was playing

I know he played that one at the end but he played another one during the show.
