Right....complete novise to Wireless connectivity...have 3M Digiweb BB and just picked up a Belkin G wireless router. Can get through the setup of the router to ensure that the modem and the router are communicating, but cannot get the laptop to connect. I can see the network but cannot connect.....I know this is probably basic stuff to some people but this is wrecking my head. The guy in PC World told me it was so easy a child could do it.....not laughing any more!!!!

Try changing the channel in the router.

Try changing the channel in the router.

Unfortunately that didn't work, anyone else got any ideas?

Are you using a cable to configure the router?

    Try connecting without Encryption first.

MAke sure that MAC address filtering is disabled (it restricts access to machines with MAC addresses that have been entered in the router only.)

Make sure that your IP settings for the wireless card are set to automatic.

See this post for more info

Yes, you can buy a wireless router and connect it to your modem.
