Are Ryanair now weighing passengers?

I just heard the end of a conversation during the week on Todayfm and they were on about Ryanair weighing passengers at Dublin airport the day before. Did anyone hear this or know anything about this?

It's a routine thing they do to establish the average passenger weight. I don't think you need worry about being charged by bodyweight just yet! And unless you're the same size as me, you've little to worry about!

All airlines use an average body weight for male/female /children/infants

From what I know its
male..87k
female.77k
child 42 k
infant 10k

Apparently they use this date when calculating take off weights and landing weights and such like. This has to be included in the aircraft documentation before each flight I'm told.

It probably includes a hand baggage element as well..y'know duty free etc etc
