I've never had a problem in returning goods to Lidl, they have a policy of "If you don't like it, bring it back and we will give you a full refund"

So you've nothing to lose, bring it home, set it up and if you're not impressed, bring it back.

Specs look good tho and at least €400 cheaper than what else is around, that i know of.

The only bad thing about the TV is the resolution which is 1366 x 768 pixels. While most recent ones are 1920x1080 pixels which suggest to me that is made with old technology. But it is still a good buy..considering the over priced stuff is in Ireland..but check out here It was recommended by friend tonight while we were discussing the lidl's TV.,,

Yes i was about to say the same but there aint a huge difference between 1366 x 768 and 1920x1080 well not from what ive seen
and for that price I think its a brilliant deal

The specs don't mention it so I wouldn't say so. Not really needed in Ireland anyway.

Thinking of buying one of these this week in my local LIDL store to hook up to my sons 360 and probs hook it to my PC as well :D .
Only thing is, I spoke to one of the guys working there ( Buddy of mine )
He says they havent had any problem with them but the only issue he would have is the following.

    1) 28 days to return & get full refund if not satisfied with product or if it developes a fault or whatever.

    2) After the 28 days you get a replacement Set ( warranty is 3 yr's )

    BUT...!!

He was very "iffy" about it being a Targa product as he fears they could pull the plug with Lidl thus leaving Lidl with the problem of any sets that develop a fault whist under warranty.
Basically saying if one does develop a fault after say 14 months and Targa no longer around.. How does Lidl stand by it then ?

Probably being a bit on the cautious side but worth a thought ?

Why? lidl have been doing targa stuff since they came here, just like aldi do medion.

Thats not the pointing he is making.

He says if targa walk away from their deal to supply lidl what happens to your tv if something goes wrong

This will only be an issue on larger screens, I'd pitch larger at 50"+
It would only be an issue here if you were sitting very close to the TV

    Optimal seating distance
    40" diagonal screen (screen height of 19 inches) × 3.1 = 5 feet

Well, it's a manufacturers warranty, so I would assume that they would still have to honour it even if the retailler and themselves no longer had an arrangement.

As long as targa as a company is still there that is anyway. Even if it was disolved they would have to put in support arrangements as part of a dissolution?

    Thats my point.

    Lidl offer 3 yr.

That is what I am wondering

If the warranty is with Lidl then it's Lidls prob not the buyers. I'd presume they'd source an equivalent TV from another supplier or give you your money back. I used to work in a company that gave a 3 year warrenty on PCs. We used to have to replace 3 year old PCs with whatever the current specs were when the buyers had a major problem. Nobody ever complained :D
