    Morning,

I am running Vista Home and my WSC is saying that Windows Defender is turned off and I have no virus protection installed.

Even though Windows Defender is on and I am using AVG Free.

    Why is this happening?/

WSC can't detect my AVG Free install either. Just open WSC and, beside the flagged entries, click the arrow and choose to monitor the software you have installed yourself. That sould sort things out.

I'm also told that Defender is off [but I'm running a RC of Vista not the RTM]. If you open WSC, I think there's a button there to turn on Defender.
