    PC World.

20" Samsung Syncmaster, capable of 1680x1050.

    Comes with 2.1 speakers included.

    Not a bad deal.

You know the model number HavoK? I was looking at a Syncmaster 931BW TCO03, 1440x900, 2 ms, 2000:1 on Komplett http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=331153 for €260

Looks like a good deal if the specs are good.

I know these do not have a tuner but can they be used as a regular TV - i.e. do they have the port to accept the regular TV arial wire?

    You just contradicted yourself..
if it does not have a tuner it does not have a port for a tv aeriel.. the tuner would be the bit that tunes into the signal coming from the tv aeriel hence no this does not have an aeriel port.

It is a computer monitor not a tv, you can however get special external tv tuners which plug into computer monitors such as this
or you could have this hooked up to a pc and buy an internal tv tuner card for that pc.

This Offer is not available in Ye Olde PC World shope in the Airside! :( I'm beginning to wonder do the two stores belong to the same company at all? They tried to sell me a heap of ****e 19" for €300.

I'll check tomorrow the model number dingatron, but from what I read instore it seemed pretty good.

Yeah PC World in Galway have some good offers - I remember when they had 6600GTs for 49.99 and I posted about it, but nowhere else had it....they seem to have decent special offers here fairly regularly.

drdre, check out the following thread for details on a Samsung 19" LCD that has a scart connection, but I don't think Samsung do a 20" version with scart:
