Was at the Radisson in Athlone last night when i noticed two cash running in the adjacent room. Was just wondering what the legalities of this were? Surley this can't be good for the ever scrutinised poker seen in our country? Or is tangible under the so called loop holes? If this was illegal, were would the hotel stand in regards to the finger of blame pointing?

They've been running cash games at their events for at least six months. The first time they did they were pot limit games and they didn't know how to run them properly. They thought that with blinds €1-€2 the next raise is to a total of €6 and the next raise is to a total of €15 or something along those lines.

I'm not sure about the legalities of running cash games in hotels. They've been run in Dublin hotels since the EPT and Irish Open have been hosted outside of casinos, but no alcohol is allowed in the cash game area.
