Ok, here's the situation: I'm a j2ee developer but know embarrassingly little about networks :o . I want to set up a wireless network in my apartment so that when I get a nintendo wii I'll be able to stream all my lovely mp3's (and maybe divx's?) that are on my pc, onto to my telly  and also use by PDA while sat on the bog :o .

I have magnet broadband so to connect to the internet I just plug a network cable from the network port on the pc to the port on the wall.

So, what do I need?? a wireless router, a bundle, adapter, antenna or access point??

    any recommendations/advice welcome!

You need a wireless router. Can only recommend what I've used, but the Linksys WRT54G should do the trick.

you need a wirless router, dsl or cable depending on what your service is, and a wirless adapter for your pc, your set then, you may need an access point if your house is huge and you can't get the signal at the far end. but for now a wireless router and adapter will do the trick for you.
