Which rucksack/backpack for travel?????

    Hey Guys

    Heading away for 4 months in august goin to be traveling around asia and a bit of the U.S and oz. Quick question which size backpack would you need for all your gear?? we talkin about 80l?? ive been reading about all this " this backpack will let your skin breath and even out the weight etc." as a virgin backpacker ive no idea what the hell this means :) any ideas suggestions would be most welcome

    p.s would millets be the best place to go?? don't wana be spending hundreds on one thankin u!!!!! :)

    80L is plenty. 60/70L would probably be big enough too, you don't need to bring that much (what you bring, you carry) and it's better to have a full smaller bag than a half-full big bag as the weight is distributed better.

    I would have a good look in all the shops at the end of mary st (Millets, Army Bargains etc) - the staff can be very pushy so take your time.

    Sporthouse is an Irish make that have been going for years and make very strong reliable bags.
    If you have a bit of money you could get something nice like a Berghaus / Lowe Alpine from The Great Outdoors.

    make sure you get one that fits and try it on, preferably with a full load.

    Or you could use the tips here and here and just go with a carry-on backpack.
