Is there someway to get ebay to notify you if an item comes up for sale?

Say you do a search for an item on ebay and get no results, is there some way, another site or on ebay to have it send you a message if it ever does appear for sale, something that meets your original search?

Great! thanks a lot. I often am searching for something odd and forget about it the next day!
Lots of things I want are up as "buy it nows" but get little action, if they went for auction they would probably get little action too, and so you could get it really cheap.
