Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just got this idea after reading flukey's thread. Since there are so many gaa video's (espesially on youtube) i thought it would be nice to have a thread where people just post a link of a gaa video clip and give a quick description (leave discussions for another thread). Ok i'll start with a few.

Kerry vs Mayo 2006 All-Ireland final

Kilkenny vs Cork 2006 All-ireland final

Strange, but I was just coming in to put in two more of mine. Well, here they are:

    All-Ireland Football Final 2002. Armagh v Kerry. (4 mins 39 secs)

    All-Ireland Football Final 2003. Tyrone v Armagh. (7 mins 41 secs)
I have my walkman commentary on this one.

I have other GAA stuff on video that I will get round to putting up sometime too. Thanks for the thread Dapos.

28 years on, and we still don't know what the free was for, and why it wasn't blown up to be retaken when everyone was ready.

Paddy Cullen picked the ball up off the ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Flukey

He clearly tips the ball off the ground, so it wasn't that. Some say he gave a nudge to Ger Power, but there was nothing in that either. Whatever the free was given for, a free was not justified, and even so the free should have been retaken, as quick frees often are. Seamus Aldridge still has his back to Mike Sheehy when the free is taken, and it wasn't taken from the spot the referee points from. If it was a 13 year free, it was not taken in line with where the "supposed" offence took place.

There was no reason for a free in the first instance and there were several reasons why it should have been retaken. Even Jimmy Magee doesn't know in that piece what it was for and neither does Micháel O'Hehir. Who shot JFK and what was that free for? Two of the great mysteries of the 20th century.

That was a great day without doubt the finest match I was ever at. The pointscoring was fantastic that day - feck all punching over the bar from ten yards or tap over frees. We're back on the trail again next Sunday going to miss the rugby game but gotta see Johhno's first league game.

Eddie Moroney is on youtube. The whole match is show (broken into 15 parts) This is the older match (1992)

I have just finished uploading the build-up and and selected parts of the first half of the floodlit Dublin v Tyrone match. It will be a while before it is viewable, though probably so by the time you may be reading this. Some of the half time entertainment and second half action will go up over the next few days when I've finished editing and putting it together.

Dublin v Tyrone under floodlights, build up and 1st half.

Why did Dublin fall to pieces when Tyrone put it up to them in the second half of the floodlit game then? Alan Brogan literally disappeared, it was scary. Similar kinda of thing with the dubs to Mayo last year, Tyrone again the year before.

Right lads, my second half highlights of Dublin v Tyrone are now online too. With these things you just have to turn on the camera when you think something might happen and sometimes it is off when something good does happen. I missed some very nice points in Tyrone's comeback unfortunately, but there is still some good stuff from the second half, plus a bit of the half time match too. Enjoy:

Nicely done synopsis (6 mins). Showing John Mullane's sending off, and Waterford with 14 men pulling themselves up by the bootstraps to go on to win it by a point. Paul Flynn scoring a goal (again:)) from a free while the Cork defence are napping. Ken McGrath's point from 100 yards.

holy hell, that was some hit. I don't think it was an out and out foul but the victim just turned a little and the steam train coming through caught him between the shoulder and chest. I could almost all refs calling it as a foul. What was this game played?

Just watched the Cormac McAnallen tribute on Youtube again, and the one image that always sticks out is the picture of Mickey Harte giving instructions to Cormac. The look of intensity on Hartes face and pure concentration on McAnallens is amazing, two class acts at their absolute best. The connection between the two is amazing, and the grip on the arm pretty much sums it up.

What is everybody elses favourite GAA image? Links if possible!
