I hear Sigur Ros use it alot and it seem's very handy, simple to use and cheap, anyone know anything about it?

Its a small little lo-fi consumer end sampler - bit like the Casio SK-1 but with PCM sounds built in as well. The average used price has been driven up from like 5 euro to about 80 in the last 3 or 4 years. It's desirability lies in its restrictions; i.e. that cheesy lo-fi sound. If you're serious about getting something, you could probably pick up a professional rack mount sampler like an Akai s2000 or an old E-mu or something for the same money, and then get a bit crusher or just manually throw down the sample rate. A lot of the Sigur Ros sound would have been about running cheap gear like this through thousand dollar delays and effects.
