Chorus - Digital/Analog options ??

I am a Chorus analog customer and have signal split to various rooms via 4-way splitter. Picture quality has been poor for Sky Sports though for some time now (jumps a lot), and seems to be due to the signal quality rather than the fact that signal is split (problem remains when I remove splitter and just connect up to main TV where decoder for sky sports is hooked up). I am considering an update to Digital for the main TV to (hopefully) correct this, but am concerned that this will mess up analog feed to other rooms. Will it work to have digital decoder in one room (thus providing digital tv in that room only), with analog continuing to feed happily to other rooms (Note: signal is split outside house before it gets to decoder) ? Any feedback/advice welcome........

I've since been told that this is a question of signal strength. Anyone know what strength of signal is needed for digital to work, and how to go about measuring it ?

if Sky Sports is dodgy then get Chorus to fix. why would you pay for sub standard service? Chorus would love for you to upgrade to digital to fix the problem

NTL certainly provide the above service, so I'd say Chorus would do the same.
